“Professor of Archaeology, expert on the occult, and how does one say it… obtainer of rare antiquities.”

– Major Eaton, Raiders of the Lost Ark

There are a lot of Indiana Jones posters out there

This iconic poster was created by the late artist & illustrator, Richard Amsel.

On this day, July 1, in (fictional) history, in the year 1899, Henry Walton Jones, Jr. was born. Later, he would begin going by the nickname “Indiana,” a name borrowed from his beloved childhood dog, and… well, you know the rest. Or at least you should.

If you don’t, or if you just want to refresh your memory, the library is a great place to start. The Indiana Jones story doesn’t begin and end with the films; Indy’s adventures can be found in books (film novelizations, movie guides, original novels and stories, and so on), comic books & graphic novels, TV series and video games. We’ve got a little bit of everything, and what we don’t have you can likely find in the other PrairieCat libraries.
