Paula Hawkins is pretty firmly entrenched at the top of the NYT Best Sellers list with The Girl on the Train. It is currently in its 84th week on the list and it probably won’t be going anywhere anytime soon, especially considering that the film based on the book (same name) just hit theaters last week.
Good for Paula Hawkins, and good for book/movie fans. But have you ever been curious about who might be the best sellers of all time?
Bear with me here. Paula Hawkins must have woken up everyday for the last 84 weeks and felt amazing – it’s good to be on top, right? And she has only sold, what, 12 million-ish copies? According to the list of the Top 10 Best Selling Fiction Writers of All Time at top10base.com the 10th best selling novelist of all time is John Grisham, who has sold an estimated 250 to 300 million copies of his books. How must he feel in the morning? The top best selling novelist of all time you ask? I won’t spoil it for you but over 2 billion copies sold. Check out the rest of the list if you are curious.
