Sharon and Dan Peterson have been promoting bat education through these presentations since 1996 with the goal of teaching and informing their audiences about the many benefits of this misunderstood and feared creature.
Sharon is an elementary school teacher/ librarian. She has been trained by Bat Conservation International in the conservation of bats. Dan has over 20 years of experience caring for captive Fruit bats.
We are thrilled to announce the return of the petting zoo!
Get off the beaten path and meet the numerous animals Colbrese Farms will bring to our parking lot.
Pet animals ranging from baby goats to larger animals like a cow or horse. Each year we have a petting zoo, Colbrese Farms brings a different selection. Come see which animals visit us this year!
After seeing the animals, dont forget to go into the library to check out books and collect summer reading prizes.
No registration is required, though we ask groups to please notify us 309-524-2480 so we know when there will be large crowds.
Libraries love moms. They bring their little ones to our programs, encourage their big ones to come in and ask us for help with their homework, check out our books and support us in general. Then there’s the fact that we love our actual moms as well. Really, they aren’t all that hard to love.
With that in mind, we now have a daytime book group just for moms* with small children!
*Technically it’s for Dads too, but it’s Mother’s Day so…
